50 Million Baby Boomers are Accelerating Demands for Accessible Services

The 2000 U.S. Census Bureau survey put the number of Americans over the age of 50 at 76 million. The projection is that by 2020 there will be 116 million people over 50 (36% of the population). That means today in the United States, approximately one in four people are over the age of 50; half the people over age 65 have a disability, including hearing problems.

"I have three stores in Chicago with very different accessibility issues. One has two steps up to the door; the second had an extremely heavy door; and the third has very wide doors.

"We get about 280 customers per week at the three locations and about 10 are either elderly or disabled. They NEED the BigBell™.

"The goodwill that this has created even among those who are not disabled or elderly...you can't put a monetary value on that!"
-Chris Gallagher, Franchise Owner, Cartridge World, Chicago, Illinois
